To God’s beautiful people, greetings in the awesome name of Jesus Christ our Lord, the name that is above every other name, the name that is still mighty to deliver and save. It is truly a privilege to be able to share the heart of God with you.
In the past few years the body of Christ has walked through a season where change has been in the atmosphere; the dispensation has changed, which requires a changing of the guards in natural and spiritual government. I believe as kingdom, shakers, movers and shifters we have been given a mandate to be part of the change process and even more importantly direct and guard change in prayer.
Prayer has been a fundamental component of our daily walk this year; it has been a tremendous blessing to see the growth in the body of Christ. I had the privilege to teach at a women’s conference on prayer in England, U.K. and was asked to write an article on how I developed my prayer life. I would like to share it with you and pray that it will be a blessing.
How I Developed My Prayer Life
‘Though there may have been chaos and turmoil around us, my mother exposed me to the power of prayer at a very young age. I remember the Lord speaking to me at the age of six and expressed to me that nothing could hurt me unless I believed that it could. It was at that point that I felt the conviction of salvation.
I learned how to communicate with God and how to hear His voice. At that time it was not sophisticated, but rather, a relationship of trust, honesty, faith and openness was being developed. I had a praying mother who poured into me and taught me how to pray and that it was imperative to take everything to God in prayer.
Over the years I understood that prayer would more often shift and align me, and not always change my circumstances. Prayer would position my mind to accept the will of God concerning me. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2).
I have always had a love for prayer and discovered that prayer was a power position that could reposition individuals, people groups and nations. I have learnt how to wait on the Lord in prayer, how to war and how to worship. My circumstances, the press in difficult times, have been a fundamental tool in developing my prayer life and the prayer life of the church. Through prayer I have learnt how to tap into my dual citizenship; in prayer I do not operate by myself, but I can call on help from the host of heaven. When an assignment or a situation is overwhelming I ask for angelic assistance. I also learnt how to appeal to the heart of God and even go before the courts of heaven to appeal my case or to legislate his will. Through pray I received my God given mandate and authority to operate as an agent of Heaven in the earth realm.
It is imperative for every believer to know who he or she is and rest in his or her assignment. God equips you to operate where He takes you! Know that you are an agent of change and the kingdom needs your voice!
